Health and Physical Education
The Ontario Physical Education Association of Ontario has put out a binder with many lessons for Physical Education that teachers use all across Ontario. The three strands for Physical Education are Healthy Living, Fundamental Movement Skills, and Active Participation.
The government has also mandated that children participate in 20 minutes of Daily Physical Activity (DPA). Students in my class have been assigned a month, along with two to three fellow students, where they can practice their leadership and oral language skills. The websites and links below have a variety of game ideas that the team can use to organize a great D.P.A session.
PLEASE ensure that your child wears his/her running shoes every day, and is ready to participate in physical activity on a daily basis.
